The Catholic truths expounded by Chrysostom were so evident to this woman's husband that it seemed to him that he should not tolerate his wife's pernicious errors any longer.
He tried to persuade her to renounce them and to embrace the true Catholic Faith , but no fruit came from her advice or from their long discussions, because she was so tenacious with heretical views.
After all the means of leading her on the right path were exhausted, he threatened to part with her if he did not accede to her wishes, following the good example he had set her.
