Cain and Abel
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.
The story of Cain and Abel is told in the book of Genesis . This would have been the first murder in human history . Abel was a shepherd and Cain a husbandman.
On one occasion Cain and his younger brother Abel presented offerings to God. Cain brought fruits of the soil and Abel offered firstfruits from his flock (A sheep). (Genesis 4: 3, 4). Abel's offering would have pleased God , while Cain's had not, and his countenance fell.
God says to Cain, after seeing his countenance fallen because of his offer rejected, "If you do well, will it not be right that you will be accepted?" (Gen. 4.7).
Possessed by jealousy, Cain ambushed his brother. He suggested to Abel that they both go to the field, and on reaching Cain killed his brother;
Responding arrogantly to being challenged by God, the Creator sentenced him to banishment from the ground, and was condemned to the condition of wandering in the world, which sets out to seek an indefinite future in a wilderness of men. Cain lamented the severity of his punishment and expressed anxiety that Abel's murder could be avenged on him, but still expressed no regrets. The Creator "set a sign for Cain", the protective sign that designates God's creature, the mark of Adam's son, to prevent him from being killed, but the record does not say that that sign or mark was somehow placed on his own. Cain. God also said that whoever killed him would be "punished seven times."
After killing Abel, Cain would have gone to the "land of escape (Nod or Node) east of Eden", taking with him his wife, whose name is not mentioned in the Bible.
Narrative;
Adam and Eve, after being expelled from the garden of Eden, had a son named Cain, and later had Abel. The two brothers grew up together until Cain decided to take his role as farmer. He quickly attained high status, and became the elite of society at the time, taking a different path than his brother. Abel would have become a keeper of a flock.On one occasion Cain and his younger brother Abel presented offerings to God. Rejection of the sacrifice;
Some sources indicate that Cain's sacrifice would not have pleased God, for the sacrifices to God should have bloodshed. Just as Adam and Eve, in committing original sin, try to hide themselves with leaves, but this does not hide sin from God, who, upon seeing, kills a lamb and clothe them with animal skin. [ 1 ]
Other sources say that Abel's sacrifice was offered in faith in the face of the biblical statement that "By faith Abel offered God a true sacrifice compared to that of Cain. By faith he was recognized as righteous when God approved the your offers. "(Hebrews 11: 4), a total sacrifice .
However, the strongest hypothesis is that Cain's sacrifice would not have a prophetic teaching. Already Abel's pointed directly to the prophecy that would be fulfilled in the New Testament, where the eternal lamb would be sacrificed for the salvation of mankind by referring directly to Jesus Christ.
